Here are some pictures of some recent koi that I picked up. All of them but the bigger white one in the 1st picture are new. They are 4 to 5 inch butterfly koi. To the purist koi keeper and to the major koi show orgs. out there they do not consider butterfly koi as koi at all. There is no globalized standard for them and most purist's out there wouldn't be caught dead with one in their pond. Crazy way of thinking if you ask me! But I don't ever plan to show koi.....
As of late I am really on a koi kick. So much so that I will be ordering in several hundered this coming spring, setting up some 300 gallon stock tanks and a nice filteration system and start selling them. Atleast that is the plan as of now. I will for sure order a 120 of the 5" size so that I can pick my favorites to grow out and sell/trade the rest. I am thinking all butterfly koi at this point as well.
These fish are living in my QT tank right now which is a 120 gallon rubbermaid tank. As they get bigger I will move them to the main pond and get rid of the ones that I don't want. I only want to keep the ones that have a nice body and that the patterns don't get dirty or fade. Fun stuff watching these little guys grow. Koi are fun.
In the 2nd picture and the last picture you can see a catfish or 2. I will keep one to eat the crap off the bottom and get rid of 1. Picture quality is kinda bad~ sorry!

Well, we had a big snow storm come through. While it is not a big storm compared to other parts of the country it was a big one for us here in the NW. Here are some pictures from the event!
